Other Scholarships
New scholarships are mailed to the counseling office, especially during the spring. Here are some of the scholarships that are available at the school counseling office (some may be available online):
April 2007
Steve F. Wemhoff Memorial Scholarship ($500)
> Seniors with at least a 'B' average from high schools in: Battle Creek, Elgin, Hartington, Humphrey, Lindsay, Lyons, Madison, Newman Grove, Norfolk, Pender, Pierce, Randolph, Stanton, Tilden, Wakefiled, Wayne, and Winside
> Application available in school counselor's office.
> Application due April 1, 2007
Meadow Grove Federal Credit Union ($500)
> Must be studying in the field of business and/or finance.
> Available at school counselor's office.
> Application due April 1, 2007
Nebraska Children's Groundwater Festival ($250)
> Any student interested in pursuing a career in water.
> Available online at www.cpnrd.org.
> Application due April 2, 2007
Omaha Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) ($1,000)
> Any student pursuing a career in computing related fields.

Carriage House Foundation Scholarship ($1,000)
> Plan to attend a Nebraska Community College and plan to enroll in an automotive related course of study.

Coop Council Scholarships ($600-800)
> Pursuing degree in agriculture.
> Parents must be a patron or employee of a Nebraska Cooperative

> For continuing education as a registered nurse.

Madison County Farm Bureau Ag Scholarships ($250)
> Resident of Madison County or family carries a Farm Bureau membership in Madison County
> Pursuing education in agricultural field.

Charles Marshall Educational Loan Fund (varies)
> Family derives majority of income from agriculture OR reside in a community of less than 10,000.
> Enroll in school of nursing for LPN or RN OR to become a professional educator.

American Legion Auxiliary State Scholarships
> You may apply for one of the following scholarships.

> Ruby Paul Campaign Fund Scholarship: daughter, son, granddaughter, grandson, great-granddaughter or great-grandson of an American Legion or Legion Auxiliary member who has held Nebraska membership for two years or an American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion member who has held Nebraska membership for two years.
> Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and a Nebraska resident for the previous 3 years.
> Averyl Elaine Keriakedes Memorial Scholarship: Awarded preferably to a female enrolled at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln who plans to teach middle or junior high school social studies
> Roberta Marie Stretch Memorial Scholarship: $400 awarded to a qualified applicant enrolled or accepted into an undergraduate or graduate program at a 4-year college or university.

Must be veteran connected and a Nebraska resident.
> Preference given to former Nebraska Girl's State Citizens.
> Ruby Lorraine Paul Scholarship Fund: daughter, son, granddaughter, grandson, great-granddaughter or great-grandson of an American Legion or Legion Auxiliary member who has held Nebraska membership for two years or an American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion member who has held Nebraska membership for two years.
> Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and a Nebraska resident for the previous 3 years.
> Scholarships EXCLUDE applicants enrolled in a school of nursing.
> Must have maintained a "B" or better average in the last 2 semesters of high school.
> Graduate Scholarship: $200 will be awarded to a qualified application interested in teaching special education students.
> Must be veteran connected and hold a bachelor's degree.
> Licensed Practical Nursing Scholarship: Will not exceed $300. Applicant must be veteran connected and a resident of Nebraska at least 3 years prior to application date.
> Nurse's Gift Tuition Scholarship: Must be attending a nursing school.
> Student Aid Grant or Vocational Technical Scholarship: Must be a resident of Nebraska who is veteran connected.
Antelope County Farm Bureau Scholarship ($250)
> Antelope County senior or any senior whose parents are Antelope County Farm Bureau members.
> Any field of study is eligible to apply.
> Application available at the school counselor's office.
> Applications due by March 26, 2007
Greater Horizon Scholarship ($1,000)
> Individuals between the ages of 18-35 who are enrolling full-time at a college in the agricultural field of studies.
> Must be a member (or dependent member) of Nebraska Farm Bureau.
